Frog flail mover maintenance: how to make your flail mover last over time

Flail mowers have an average life cycle of six years but your mower can last much longer with the right care and attention. Simple, regular maintenance can save you money on repairs or purchasing a new machine.
Clearing the ground of posts, bricks and other obstacles is the first method of protecting your lawn mower from premature failure, as hitting foreign objects with the blade is a very common way to destroy these machines.
Here’s what else you can do to safeguard your lawn and make it last: Check that the oil level is at or near the maximum limit. Add if necessary but do not overfill. Insufficient oil can damage the engine; even an excessive amount can leave parts unlubricated due to the creation of air bubbles.
Combine petrol and two-stroke engine oil following the instructions in the machine’s instruction manual.
Wash or scrape off old debris from the bottom of the cutting deck immediately after each job. In this mode the residues will not dry out, allowing for easier cleaning.
Encrusted residues can compromise mulching and harvesting and can also corrode metal.
Check your lawnmower’s starter cord and replace it if it is worn.
Check the power cord of your electric grass trimmer and replace it if it is cracked or damaged. Sharpen all blades. The blades must be sharpened at least once per season of use.
